What is the minimum order quantity for customising a t-shirt?

We do not place any constraints on the minimum order. You can order just 1 (single) t-shirt or hoodie through our digital printing service. Screen printing: minimum 1 piece (higher minimums may apply if your design has more than 3 colors). Embroidery: minimum 1 piece.

How do I place an order?

Share these four details with us: (1) Type of t-shirt — round neck, V-neck, collar or full sleeve; (2) Fabric quality and color; (3) Quantity — number of garments with the same design; (4) Print colors — number of colors in your design.

Question 3

How do I pay for my order?

Accepted Answer

We usually request 50% advance payment for order confirmation (bank deposit, wire transfer or online transfer) and the remaining 50% before dispatch or on delivery.

Question 4

Do I get to see a preview or sample before you print my order?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we provide a free digital mockup of every design. If you want changes, we send another mockup free of charge. Production only begins after your artwork approval. For physical screen-printed or embroidered samples, you can order paid samples to check the quality; return the sample to get a refund.

What is the delivery schedule?

For urgent orders we can turn around in a few working days using our stock colors and styles. For order-specific styles we ideally need 7–10 days to manufacture. Exact timelines vary with style, quality and quantity.

How do I get my goods?

We have delivery centres across Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Delhi, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Hyderabad, Bangalore and more. Delivery within Tamil Nadu is free. For other states we ship via air, rail, road or sea to your destination on a to-pay basis.

What is your refund policy?

Because our t-shirts are custom-designed, one-of-a-kind creations, they cannot be returned for a refund.

I received my t-shirt but there’s something wrong. What should I do?

Every order is held to our standards of quality, competitive pricing and quick delivery — the Scott International guarantee. If your order arrives incorrect or late, contact us within 2 days of receiving your shipment and we will work with you to make it right.

How is the price calculated?

How can I lower the cost of my order?

(a) Print on white shirts — they are the most stocked and cheapest base. (b) Use fewer design colors — screen printing requires a separate screen per color. (c) Increase order size — set-up cost spreads across more pieces. (d) Reduce printing locations — fewer print positions means fewer screen set-ups.

How do I get a quote?

What colors can I get the t-shirt in?

Accepted Answer

Please check our product specification page for stock colors. If you need a specific color outside that list, we can manufacture it — minimum 200 pieces per color, with a delivery time of around 10–15 days.

Do higher GSM (thicker) garments last longer?

Accepted Answer

No — that is a myth. The thickness of a garment does not guarantee its longevity. Quality is determined by yarn, dyeing and finishing, not weight alone.

Question 14

What is the difference between combed, semi-combed and carded t-shirts?

Accepted Answer

These are different qualities of cotton yarn. Combed cotton is superior to semi-combed and carded. With semi-combed or carded yarn, small cotton balls (pilling) start surfacing on the fabric after a few washes.

Will the t-shirts bleed color?

Accepted Answer

Dark t-shirts may bleed slightly on the first wash. Our t-shirts are guaranteed for color fastness and will not fade with frequent washing. Bleeding and fading typically occur when poor-quality dyes are used to save on manufacturing cost.

What is GSM?

Accepted Answer

GSM stands for ‘grams per square metre’ and measures fabric weight. A non-industry buyer cannot accurately determine GSM without a lab test. Comparing manufacturers purely on GSM is misleading — quality depends on raw materials and processes, not weight alone.

Why are higher GSM t-shirts sometimes available at lower prices?

To offer cheaper prices, some manufacturers raise GSM but compromise everywhere else — inferior carded/semi-combed yarn, cheap dyes with poor color fastness, steam calendering instead of compacting, and substandard printing. The t-shirt looks heavy but fails on dye fastness, feel, finish, shrinkage and print quality.

Will my t-shirt shrink?

Our t-shirts are pre-shrunk. Knitted cotton always shrinks slightly on washing, but our compacting process keeps shrinkage under 5% — the internationally accepted norm.

What are the washing instructions for your products?

Accepted Answer

Wash the garment inside out. Do not dry clean. Do not iron on the print. Wash dark colors separately. Do not bleach. Wash at 40°C (cold water). Avoid strong detergents and fabric softeners.

What types of printing do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Screen printing — (1) Pigment ink: water-based, possible only on white or light-coloured garments, can be ironed over. (2) Plastisol ink: ideal for light or dark garments, great opacity, the world’s most popular printing method, cannot be ironed over. Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing — uses specialised inkjet technology to print directly onto textiles and garments.

What method of printing should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Screen printing is generally used for orders over 6 pieces. Direct-to-Garment is used for orders under 6 pieces or designs with many colors, where screen set-up would cost more than DTG. Both methods are high quality and covered by the Scott International guarantee.

What is the maximum print area for my design?

Accepted Answer

For adult t-shirts the standard print areas are: full front 14″ wide, max 13″ × 20″; full back 14″ wide, max 13″ × 20″; left or right breast 4″; upper back neck 4″.

Can I print on the sleeves of my t-shirt?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your design requires sleeve printing we will accommodate it on both full-sleeve and half-sleeve t-shirts.

Question 24

Is the print going to stay on the t-shirt?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we guarantee the print will stay. Screen-printed images must be cured at 350°F throughout the print; thicker ink deposits need longer dryer time. Cracking and peeling happen when the print is not fully cured. We monitor every job individually to deliver the highest quality print.

Question 25

What resolution should I use when uploading my design for printing?

Accepted Answer

If you are using a JPEG: higher resolution gives a better finished print. Ideally upload a 300 DPI image at the actual size you want it printed. Enlarging a small image will visibly reduce print quality. Recommended formats: PNG, PDF, PSD (Photoshop), CDR (CorelDRAW), AI (Illustrator).

Can I bring my own t-shirts in or do you supply them?

We do not print on garments supplied by the customer — printing on unknown garments risks rejection. Scott International prints only on garments we manufacture or supply.

How do I request embroidery?

Accepted Answer

Like printing, we can embroider any design or text on t-shirts. For small-quantity orders embroidery is offered on the chest area only; for large orders there is no restriction. Contact our customer service team and we will walk you through the process.
